About Me

Jeanette: I am a Madison-based artist whose work expresses my love of nature as seen in all it's colors and textures. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 24 years ago. This diagnosis, which profoundly changed my life, was a catalyst for discovering my own creative expression.

I began drawing, writing poetry, and creating beaded jewelry as a form of therapy but soon became interested in the wider possibilities of art for its own sake. My previous experience working with textiles and imported jewelry exposed me to a variety of colors and textures seen in native and ethnic patterns. This experience helped me in creating the compositions for my collages and jewelry design work. I also incorporate my experiences traveling around the country into my art.
